The Center promotes the inclusion and equality of people with disabilities through training programs, law reform efforts, and the publication and dissemination of research and policy papers and web resources. Students and faculty of the Center engage in local, national, and international advocacy projects including supporting local disability rights initiatives as well as developing policies and programs that advance the rights of people with disabilities globally.
The new Syracuse University Parent Advocacy Center (SUPAC) is a university-based center whose purpose is to provide parents of children with disabilities with the information, resources, and expertise necessary to promote meaningful involvement in their children’s inclusive education. The Center is funded by a grant from the New York State Department of Education and is located at the SU Center on Human Policy, Law, and Disability Studies.
